PICS has always offered a great Faculty but for
2015 Birmingham Children’s Hospital is also hosting the annual Alumni
meeting of the Toronto based Hospital for Sick Children. This means that
members of the Toronto Alumni based in both Europe and North America will be in
Birmingham for PICS 2015.
We will have Faculty from Europe and Canada supporting those from the UK. Then there are the opinion leaders from around the UK on the Programme. Having such a group in central England creates an opportunity for our specialist nurses and doctors, both qualified and in training, to have access to some great learning opportunities. We also invite delegates from Europe to join us too!
This all makes for a high value conference over three days. The Pre-conference Day includes workshops and opportunities to learn how the “experts” manage patients across the breadth of diagnoses presenting to PICS. In addition to the welcome reception there will be an Alumni meeting on the 14th September. Then for conference day two and three, there is a packed programme with a social interlude at The Banqueting Suites at the Town Hall.
But equally important is the contribution of over 200 delegates that usually attend PICS Annual Meeting in their abstract submissions and presentations. More oral presentations are planned in the Programme this year. Add to this the Awards for Best Abstracts but also Young Investigator grants for both nurses, doctors and scientists offering reductions in registration costs.
So the Birmingham organising committee invites you to invest your time, network, meet old friends and make new at this year PICS Annual (International) Meeting at the International Convention Centre, September 14th-16th.
