Prof Elizabeth Teisberg, author of Redefining Health Care: Creating Value-based Competition on Results and Executive Director of the Value Institute for Health and Care at Dell Medical School in University of Texas, Austin will be opening the 42nd IHF World Hospital Congress with her insights on how healthcare needs to evolve. 


This year’s World Hospital Congress, hosted by the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association, will be held on 10-12 October in Brisbane, Australia with the theme How can healthcare evolve to meet 21st century demands? 


Professor Elizabeth Teisberg, PhD is co-creator of the idea of value-based health care strategy and co-author of Redefining Health Care: Creating Value-based Competition on Results. She serves as Executive Director of the Value Institute for Health and Care at the new Dell Medical School in Austin, Texas which creates curriculum for transforming strategy, culture and measurement in health care to improve health outcomes and reduce costs. Its translational research puts into practice thought-leading work on value-based health care delivery. The Value Institute also provides leadership for Dell Medical School’s patient outcome measurement. Prof. Teisberg has won the Wachovia Award for outstanding research, the Frederick S. Morton Award for Leadership, and the Book of the Year Award from the American College of Health Care Executives.

 

Prof. Teisberg is being joined by a number of distinguished keynote speakers throughout the three-day Congress who will also share their thoughts on how to harness the benefits and overcome the obstacles of transitioning health systems.
