Reduced Hospital Infections in Scotland

The Scottish Patient Safety Programme, which has been running for more than a year and a half is said to have decreased ventilator-acquired pneumonia cases, surgical errors and lengths of hospital stays.

The scheme aims to reduce adverse incidents in wards by 30% and hospital mortality rates by 15% over five years.
