The SIAIS (Italian Society of Architecture and Engineering for Healthcare) association of Italian Hospital Engineering is organising the 7th Congress of (the International Federation of HospitalEngineering) IFHE-EU in Bologna, Italy.

 

Registration is now open for this year’s congress that will be held from May 29 to 31 alongside a meeting of the SIAIS.


“The IFHE-Europe is now the biggest event of its kind in the European region and can be seen as the most important platform for the discussion of hospital-specific technical topics,” a spokesperson said.

 

About 500 international and national delegates are expected at the congress which will feature national and International companies hospital service providers.

Key topics being discussed at the May congress include:


  • Bettering of technical and infrastructural management in hospitals;
  • Promoting knowledge about efficient hospital engineering;
  • Discussion on comparative experiences and working methods;
  • Promotion of multi-disciplinary integrated planning and design;
  • Improvement of efficiency of he management of technical processes, maintenance and safety in hospitals;
  • Technical field trips.

 

Topics encompass the critical technical and infrastructural problems facing hospital engineering today: energy saving and energy efficiency improvement, planning and design optimisation, architecture and landscape, maintenance and safety in hospital sharing experiences, ICT improvement and innovation, European regulations and responsibilities, sustainable development, hospital hygiene and Health Technology Assessment.

 

Exchanging and comparing experiences on best practice will be a key focus of the event with the aim of encouraging innovation, benchmarking and establishing common European standards.

 

A wide spectrum of healthcare specialists would benefit from the congress including executives in the healthcare industry, heads of medical technology departments, construction, safety, IT, energy, building services engineering and hygiene from companies, hospitals, universities and institutes.

 

IFHE Europe was founded in 2005. It unites associations from twelve countries in Europe: Belgium, Germany, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain.
