24 October 2012, The Massachusetts State House - Beacon Street at Park Street - Boston, Massachusetts

The '2012 Transatlantic Health IT/eHealth Co-operation Assembly' assembly will be held in the context of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on eHealth, which was signed at the meeting of the Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC) in December 2010. It is jointly organised by the European Commission - DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology, and the US Department of Health and Human Services and will take place in the Massachusetts State House, hosted by President Therese Murray of the Massachusetts State Senate. In addition there will be an EU-US eHealth Business Marketplace event in the same venue on October 23rd.

The main objective of this event will be to encourage a multi healthcare sector, multi Member State mission from Europe to meet with companies, health providers, research institutions and others from across the USA  to encourage business relationships, research and other collaborations. There will be a "matching process" offered in advance, to help ensure that the event is as effective as possible in terms of networking and collaboration between healthcare actors on both sides of the Atlantic. It is anticipated that there will be a significant number of participants who will attend both days' events.
