THE HEALTH CARE SERVICE SECTOR
is one of the world’s fastest-growing global industries. Consolidation is happening at national, continental and international levels. Business models are crossing borders. All this goes with accelerating innovation in everything from digital health to brand and HR.

Whatever sub-sector you are in, whether acute care, elderly care, dentistry, psychiatry or some form of outpatient speciality, these trends will have a huge impact on your business.

Whether you are an operator, an investor or a payor, you need to understand these new business models, the new landscape and where your business sits today.

Healthcare Business International is the only conference to look at the for-profit industry internationally. It brings together the leaders of this new industry - CEOs of operators, payers and investors from across Europe and from Chile to China. In 2016 the event saw delegate numbers grow 20% to over 500, including 80 investors.

Why attend?

We understand just how hard it is to get time out to attend a two day event! We have taken this into account in putting together this year’s content. The agenda brings together the best speakers to look at the burning issues you face today. Closed workshops means that CEOs and CFOs can network with their peers internationally. Here are just some of the reasons why you should attend:

  • Network with their peersThis is a rare opportunity to meet your opposite numbers, people who are wrestling with your issues. In 2017 for the first time, we are adding closed CEO workshops enabling you to discuss burning issues with a dozen peers.Click here to see 2016 delegates to the conference.
  • Network with investors In 2016 over 70 investors in healthcare services attended this event. Meet and build relationships with the specialist investors who understand this industry.Click here to see all investors who attended in 2016.
  • Insights which boost sales and profits We have a morning session dedicated to the acute sector where CEOs talk with remarkable honesty about their business models and experience. In other sessions, CEOs look at internationalisation, brand and quality.Click here to look at the agenda.
  • The broader vision you need Today you need to understand the hospital sector internationally AND how other sectors, such as elderly care and diagnostics, are changing. You need to understand how payor-provider
  • relationships will evolve. Above all, how the web will affect your sector. All of this is covered in our agenda.Click here to see.

But don’t take our word for all this. Look and listen to these testimonials.

"Really worth travelling for this one. Gives a really clear idea of what is happening in many different sectors right across Europe. High-quality speakers, delegates and discussions."

Per Båtelson, Founder, Global Health Partner

"Managed to cover a very broad range of subjects and provide good practical examples. A lot of very senior people came as delegates."

The development of high quality, low cost health care depends on massive innovation in the way services are actually delivered. This is recognised by a new award programme - The HBI Business Model Innovation Awards - set up by publisher Healthcare Business International and in association with KPMG.

A panel of judges will assess entries, which will be awarded at a gala dinner on 4 April, 2017 at the Healthcare Business International 2017 conference.

The seven awards are for operators who can demonstrate scalable and successful new approaches that cut costs and/or improve quality of treatment. Innovation can involve the use of ehealth and telehealth, but it can also come from new ways of quickly training people, from cutting costs, from changing corporate cultures or from measuring and improving quality outcomes. Click here to apply for the awards.

“Advances in medical science don’t always deliver truly excellent health care at the right price. Rather, it is the way such services are delivered by operators – hospital groups, outpatient networks, labs, elderly care operators,” said Dr Mark Britnell, Chairman and Partner of the Global Health Practice at KPMG. “Innovation can involve the use of ehealth and telehealth, but it can also come from new ways of quickly training people, from re-engineering costs, from changing corporate cultures or from measuring and improving quality outcomes.”

The aim is to show case not only the winners, but also the runners up during the conference. The case studies will also be covered extensively on the Healthcare Business International website.

All the awards are open to private operators or NGOs in every sub-sector of the health care services industry from elderly care through to acute care, all aspects of outpatient services, laboratory and imaging service providers.

Entering an organisation for an award is simple and completely FREE OF CHARGE! Just read through the descriptions below and then click through and complete a simple online form. You can self-nominate. Before submitting your applications, please make sure you read our Terms and Conditions.

You can submit your nominations until 10th February 2017!

For the first time, 2016 saw the involvement of Emerging Market delegates who alongside their European counterparts raised the total number of delegates attending this years conference to nearly 500.

Once again CEO’s dominated at 42% of delegates, with CxOs making up 79% reflecting the fact that this elite event must feature in any private healthcare executive’s calendar. The event has taken place in the Royal College of Physicians for the past two years but we have sadly outgrown this beautiful and fitting venue, so this year’s conference will move to the QEII Centre next to Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. An equally impressive building and venue with a capacity for 800 delegates!
