As well as hosting an annual scientific meeting, the organization have initiated an annual junior workshop to support professional development amongst all those interested in learning about management topics relevant to healthcare leaders, with a particular focus on supporting residents.

European Society for the Promotion of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems in Medicine (EuroPACS) www.europacs.org

EuroPACS focuses on the role of medical images in electronic healthcare, whether radiology, nuclear medicine, surgery, cardiology and other clinical fields. The objective of the Association is to promote the exchange of information in the fields of research, user experience, implementation, assessment and audit of the benefit of the development and the use of digital systems for the acquisition, storage, transport, processing, display  and reproduction of medical pictures (PACS) and related technologies as well as their integration in the e-health context.

Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)Website: www.ihe-europe.org

The goal of IHE is to stimulate integration of healthcare information resources to improve clinical care. IHE develops and publishes detailed frameworks for implementing established data standards to meet specific healthcare needs and supports testing, demonstration and educational activities to promote the deployment of these frameworks by vendors and users. Their leading event is the 'Connectathon', where industry actors can test their systems in the same environment as others. This event enhances interoperability between the different systems in the healthcare market.

Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS) www.cars-int.org

The CARS congress with its associated journal is a facilitator of innovation and an important contributor to modern medicine on a worldwide basis. Founded in 1985, CARS with its focus on research and development for computer assisted systems and their applications in radiology and surgery has played a leading role in medical informatics for 25 years. Its growth and impact is due to CARS’s close collaboration with the ISCAS, EuroPACS, CAR, CAD and CMI societies. Following the long term successful cooperation, they will jointly hold their annual meetings with CARS in Geneva in 2010.
